"A
Christian Community Dedicated
to the Art of Healing and the Joy of Caring"

Welcome
to Bethesda Home, a 77 bed, Medicare/Medicaid certified skilled nursing care
facility featuring 59 private rooms. We provide 24 hour nursing care,
chaplain services, organized activities, individualized meal planning and a
beauty shop. We also offer
"Lifeline", an emergency telephone response system to community
residents.
We are operated by thirteen area Lutheran Churches whose mission is
to provide excellent care at the lowest possible cost to its clients. This
care involves caring for the whole person - physical, mental, social and
spiritual - in an environment that is Christian, friendly, clean, safe and
"home-like".
Our goal is to help each person in our care to reach and/or
maintain their highest level of independence in a safe, nurturing
atmosphere.

Nursing
Bethesda Home provides twenty-four hour nursing care
coverage. R.N.'s, L.P.N.'s and nursing assistants provide nursing care
with that extra touch of compassion. The nurses' station
has a full view down all four resident wings, providing for supervision of
resident rooms. An Inservice Director, as part of the nursing staff,
directs in-house education to keep nursing as well as all other staff
members up to date with current issues and concerns in health care. |
 |
Medical Services
A physician, who serves as Medical Director,
monitors and evaluates the medical care our residents receive.
Bethesda Home is located adjacent to the Sioux Valley Clinic-Beresford,
where other medical services are readily available. |
 |
Social Services
A licensed Social Worker provides "one to
one" crisis and routine counseling with our residents. The Social
Worker also performs the pre-admission interview, financial resource
planning, placement options and the actual admission of the resident. |
 |
Dietary
All diets at Bethesda are planned individually
for the residents' needs. This is overseen by a consulting Dietician,
who works with our Dietary Department. Afternoon coffee is a popular
event when family, residents and visitors gather for fellowship. |
 |
Rehabilitation
Rehabilitation plays a vital role in the care
of our residents. A licensed Physical Therapist oversees the
rehabilitation programs for those residents requiring these services.
Restorative Aides work with the resident to restore physical abilities that
may have been lost due to accident or surgery. Bethesda also employs
Occupational and Speech Therapist who assist in the rehabilitation of our
residents. |
 |
Activities
The activity program at Bethesda reflects a
respect for the dignity and worth of each older person. These
activities are geared to their abilities and include spiritual programs, bus
trips, picnics, parties for holidays, music, reading programs, and a variety
of entertainment. |
 |
Laundry, Housekeeping,
& Maintenance
All laundry at Bethesda is done by our in-house
Laundry Department. The entire facility including the building and all
the grounds are kept clean, sanitary and in good repair by our Housekeeping
and Maintenance Departments. |
 |
Beauty Shop
An in-house beautician provides residents the
opportunity to get a haircut, style, shampoo or permanent without leaving
the facility. Our beauty shop accommodates both wheelchair and
ambulatory residents. |
Bethesda of Beresford
looks forward to many years of service to the
community
of Beresford and surrounding area.
We believe that we are ready to face the growing needs of our aging
population, and will continue our rich "Tradition
of Caring".
